WHAT A THRILL it was seeing my handcrafted headbands out and about at the Cheltenham Festival this year. Although the icy cold wind whipped across the racecourse it didn’t stop the dedication to fashion and rejoicing in wearing stunning headwear. Headbands and more traditional millinery hats were out in force, along with some big Winter coats too. Cheltenham always feels like the beginning of the hat watching season and comes at just the right time to pull us out of the Winter gloom with its burst of energy and creativity.

I was so proud to see a couple of my designs trackside this year. A navy blue floral headband design made from the most beautifully delicate chiffon rose ribbon. The texture of the ribbon really leant itself to being wrapped around a padded headband and hand stitched into place not to lesson any of the structure. It was teamed with a navy jumper and a neutral herringbone jacket with a fine navy stripe in it. By the afternoon a further jumper was added as temperatures had dipped so low, the track has started the day with a dusting of snow.
The second headband was from my Curated Jewelled collection. A padded headband was wrapped in the most delicate aqua blue textured tweed style ribbon. It was then embellished with multiple pieces of vintage and reloved jewellery. Opaque blue green flowers took centre stage. Little flower buttons in soft teal added pops of colour along with faceted beads from a deconstructed necklace and stone set sections from another. It was everything this brand stands for, creating new one of kind pieces from reloved and vintage elements. It looked stunning on and you might see from the pictures it got shared during the girls day out, all part of the fun.
